Summary As General Manager youll be the driving force behind opening Clumber Park to the public, and the main leadership role within the North Nottinghamshire property group. Youll lead from the front, inspiring and motivating your team, turning strategy intoreality and delivering across a broad range of operational areas as you bring nature, beauty and history to our members and visitors. Youll create an inclusive culture where everyone can feel a sense of belonging. What its like to work here Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore.From the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a Cathedral in miniature, you can follow in the footsteps of Dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.Clumber Park is visited by more than 750,000 visitors annually who come to enjoy the year-round colour and thriving wildlife. It is popular with walkers and cyclists and is a much-loved green space for locals as well as being part of the iconic SherwoodForest which draws visitors from far afield. The property has seen significant growth over the last decade and this is predicted to continue.Youll create a plan for the future following national and regional strategy. Youll lead a team of 100 staff and 300 volunteers, working with our regional and national specialist teams.Reporting to the Assistant Director of Operations, youll be part of a dynamic wider General Manager community across the Midlands & East of England region and youll work with our internal Consultancy and external partners. What youll be doing Youll manage several Heads of Department, each with their own specialityfrom gardens and outdoors, to facilities, visitor experience, curatorship and collections careand will work with regional commercial and let estate teams. Youll bring your motivationalstyle to inspire your team to succeed across all areas of the property, to create the funds to invest back into further conservation and development.Youll focus on providing inspirational leadership for staff and volunteers; the ongoing development of a great visitor experience with customer service at its heart; Youll manage risk and compliance; champion conservationnature, buildings and collections.
