Summary If you enjoy getting hands-on as part of a small, dynamic, passionate team caring for and maintaining special places for visitors, supporters and local communities, this role would be perfect for you.As the Facilities and Support Services Manager, you’ll be responsible for leading the delivery of an efficient, effective and flexible facilities and business support service, enabling the successful operation of a complex property portfolio. Calm and adaptable, you’ll lead your team of staff and volunteers to meet their objectives, ensuring that high standards are delivered and maintained at all times and with service, both internal and external, at the heart of everything you do. What its like to work here Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. Although the house was demolished in 1938, there are many glimpses of its grand past to explore. From the Gothic-style chapel, often referred to as a Cathedral in miniature, you can follow in the footsteps of Dukes through the peaceful pleasure ground to the Walled Kitchen Garden where you can experience sights, scents and a taste of the past.Clumber Park is visited by more than 750,000 visitors annually who come to enjoy the year-round colour and thriving wildlife. It is popular with walkers and cyclists and is a much-loved green space for locals as well as being part of the iconic Sherwood Forest which draws visitors from far afield. Click here for more information about this location What youll be doing You’ll be working collaboratively as part of the portfolio’s leadership team. Comfortable with operational risk management, you’ll lead on compliance and environmental management across the portfolio. Working closely with regional colleagues, you’ll manage contractors and a small in-house team to deliver planned, preventative and reactive maintenance and repairs on our core historic buildings, let estate and visitor facilities. Ensuring high standards of cleaning across the visitor facilities is also a key part of your role. Improving and maintaining security systems and measures to protect the portfolio assets and team will be one of your priorities and you will work closely with other teams to manage the portfolio vehicle fleet.You’re as comfortable chatting with a tenant as you are talking long term strategy with the General Manager and other Heads of Department. Systems and financial management don’t scare you - you pick up new systems quickly and can explain them to others. You’re good at managing budgets and driving cost efficiencies while maintaining safe and sustainable operations.
