Job Description

EHS ManagerSalary: £50,000 to £55,000Benefits: 25 day holiday plus BH and holiday buy and sell scheme, enhanced pension, healthcare plan, life assurance, cycle to work schemeLocation: WorksopHours of work: Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm Friday 8.00am to 2.30pm depending on agreement with managementMy client based in Worksop is a power management company with a global reach. They offer energy efficient products and services to their customers which help to effectively manage electrical, hydraulic and mechanical power more reliably, efficiently, safelyand sustainably.They are now seeking an experienced EHS Manager to join their team in Worksop. At our clients manufacturing site in Worksop you will be working within their Industrial Control & Protection division, the site manufactures high quality, cost effective Cam Switchesand Disconnectors for the global market with minimal environmental impact.THE ROLE:Ensure plant level EHS programs, policies, procedures and systems are developed, implemented and sustained to ensure compliance with local, national regulatory requirements and conformance with company mandates Prepare and submits all required environmental permit applications/ renewals and routine agency reportsManage all plant waste disposal activity to ensure compliance with applicable regulationsDevelop/ maintain plant emergency response plans and ensures drills are performed to document plan effectiveness. May serve as the plant emergency coordinatorReview plant environmental permits and ensures terms and conditions are understood and complied with, ensures required documentation is maintained and required regulatory reports are submitted to the respective agency, eg. air discharge permits, storm waterdischarge permits.Evaluate proposed projects and proposed new chemicals and ensures plans are in place and implemented to address EHS compliance issuesSupport and/ or directs the plants ISO 14001 EMSDevelop/maintain all required written safety instructions, eg. HazCom, BBP, Hearing Conservation, LO/TO, PPE Assessments Maintenance and development of the Quality Management System in line with the requirements of the ISO 9001 Quality StandardEnsure all required plant safety inspections are performed and documented, eg. fire extinguishers, fire risers, emergency response equipment, safety showers, eye wash stations, emergency lights, ladders, housekeeping and that corrective actions are completedfor identified deficienciesEnsures JSAs are performed and are currentEnsures required employee health and safety training is completed on time and documented. May perform training.Evaluate operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations etc.Working hours of Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm Friday 8.00am to 2.30pm depending on agreement with managementTHE CANDIDATE:NEBOSH qualifiedExtensive experience of related professional and Supervisory/ Managerial experienceDetailed comprehension of industry/ state/ country specific environmental, health and safetyThorough knowledge of RCRA requirementsThorough knowledge of Hazard Materials Handling and Emergency Response requirementsAbility to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teamsUnderstanding of manufacturing technologies and processesKnowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilised to establish value propositions of operational changesTHE BENEFITS:Salary £50,000 to £55,000 dependant on experience25 days holiday plus BH and holiday buy and sell schemeEnhanced pensionHealthcare planLife assuranceCycle to work schemeTHE CONSULTANCY:Edwards & Pearce acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
