Hope Community Services is looking to employ a Development Officer for our homeless hostel based in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. You will join us on a part time, permanent basis working 21-30 hours per week (flexible) in return for a competitive salary of £21,000 - £24,000 per annum (pro rata).HOPE’S vision is for a fair, responsible and inclusive society which encourages, enables and empowers the individual to maximize their potential. Our mission is to promote social inclusion, tackle disadvantage, homelessness and the causes of homelessness and ensure there are pathways for positive lifestyle choices for those who are outside of mainstream services.As our Development Officer,you will be tasked with identifying and securing funding opportunities that will enhance and support the existing services and develop the organisation in line with agreed organisational targets and business plan. You will be required to communicate the specifications and frameworks relating to potential funding opportunities with the wider senior management team and take a lead in the preparing and submitting of any bids, applications or tenders. You will also be responsible for maintaining the Charities website and all social media platforms.Key responsibilities of our Development Officer:- Identifying, preparing and submitting funding applications, individually or in conjunction with the CEO and Management, in line with the organisations fundraising strategy and business plan- Working with the CEO and Management in ensuring the Business Plan objectives are met- Ensuring financial procedures and relevant grant conditions are adhered to- Developing, maintaining, and reviewing internal systems, procedures, and quality standards related to funding applications- Working with the CEO and Finance Officer in ensuring budgets for bids, applications and tenders are value for money- Researching national, regional, and local policies, strategies, and statistics relevant to particular planned services and funding applications- Projecting manage individual application processes including identifying key milestones leading up to the deadline, seeking and obtaining all relevant information on the application process and criteria, organising application information, gathering relevant documentation- Supporting the CEO and Management to identify and develop potential partnerships- Obtaining and share feedback from commissioners/decision makers on unsuccessful applications- Ensuring that the public profile of Hope Community Services is raised in conjunction with the CEO and all staffSkills and Experience required by our Development Officer:Essential - Relevant fundraising experience and proven track record of success- Excellent writing skills with the ability to produce concise and relevant proposals with meticulous attention to detail- Ability to build new relationships with a wide range of potential funding bodies- Ability to identify and research opportunities for development- Proven work experience and in-depth understanding of funding procedures, rules and regulations- Ability to be flexible and your skills in problem solving- High standard of computer literacy, (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)- Ability to plan, prioritise and work within agreed timeframes- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills- A working knowledge of and commitment to, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice- An understanding of the need and practice for confidentiality- Ability to work on your own initiative, as part of a team, under pressure, and with high levels of self-motivation.Desirable- An understanding of homelessness and relevant issues- Ability to understand and generate budgets- Experience in managing contracts including quality assurance of services and the importance of monitoring and evaluating servicesSo if you feel you have the skills and experience to join our team as our Development Officer, then why not click ‘’apply’’ today!
