As a Despatch Operative you will check appropriate working materials are available at the beginning of the shift i.e. tape, boxes, trays, tray inserts, compactor bags and refer to Chargehand if unavailable.You will check tape machine (e.g. blades clean), ensure that cages are available, check product coming through the window i.e. price, date, front/back label, seals, blisters, correct procedures, quality of product and remove any out of spec products as required and inform Team Leader.You will also transport products to Chill/Picking Area, record overs, wastage, number of cases packed, and check sheets particularly at the end of each run.The despatch operative must be able to work at pace and keep up with checks when products are coming through the despatch window so that orders go out on time to the waiting lorry. We produce sandwiches and wraps for some of the biggest retailers in the UK including Co-op, Asda, Morrisons, Boots, Aldi and Lidl.Our Manton Wood site has a gym, restaurant with hot food and a staff shop available to all our colleagues. What we’re looking for You will also need the ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 10KG and push or pull cages/pallets weighing up to 380KG You will have a good level of dexterity and be able to pack products into boxes and you will also need good Hand / Eye co-ordination to be able to check a variety of factors on the product coming through.An understanding of scanning equipment, tape machines, basic food hygiene, health and safety and ability to use a PC are desirableWe have varied shift patterns available, working 5.45pm - 5.45am What you’ll get in return
