Curriculum Team LeaderHealth & Social CareHours; Full time (37hrs per week, all year round)Duration; PermanentSalary; £35,373 per annum + benefitsLocation; Dearne Valley College and University Centre Rotherham, Rotherham About the RoleWe have exciting opportunities for an experienced Curriculum Leader or ambitious Lecturer specialising in health and social care.The role of a Curriculum Team Leader is to lead on the delivery of a range of programmes for adults Access and Degree programmes, equipping our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspiringstudents to achieve their potential. In this curriculum area we deliver Access to Health and the Foundation Degree in Health Studies, with plans for 23/24 to deliver the BSc in Health studies.Working with a supportive team including leadership from our Curriculum Manager, and working alongside other Curriculum Team Leaders and Lecturers. This established team of education professionals deliver engaging practical and theory lessons.As a Curriculum Team Leader, you will coordinate and lead a group of programmes and will deliver teaching each year, completing the relevant preparation and marking that supports this, and setting SMART targets to enable students to reach their potential.You will also supervise staff within your area. You will coordinate these programmes with the leading University and be expected to attend standardisation days/meetings in Sheffield.The role of a CTL is to equip our students with skills for their future through the delivery of outstanding education and training and inspire students to achieve their potential. This role offers you the opportunity to do this every day. It is the job satisfactionthat comes from this that makes a teaching role special.Whilst your main base with be the University Centre in Rotherham, you will be expected to teach 2/2.5 days at our Dearne Valley Campus.You willIn this role industry experience is essential as well as delivery on health and social care courses. You should have experience at teaching to a range of levels and be able to give our students an enriching experience from day one.You will have a teaching qualification and level 2 literacy and numeracy, as well as a degree in health and social care or related subject (especially Psychology), as well as industry experience in a relevant field.You will be able to lead your team successfully, working collaboratively with colleagues in this area and across other subjects. You will have good contacts with industry professionals and can work with them effectively to shape our future curriculum aswell as providing excellent opportunities for our students to gain first-hand experience in this key growth area.Department InfoYour line manager will be the Curriculum Manager of your specific department. You will regularly report on your objectives to update them on a range of KPIs including (but not limited to) student recruitment, retention, anticipated achievement, attendanceand punctuality. You will provide day to day leadership, guidance and support to Lecturers & Programme Leaders in your teams through informal methods and regular team meetings.You will be part of a Curriculum and Department team who will work with other teaching staff to develop and share good practice in the area. You also may be required to participate in cross college teams or working groups on key projects.Our excellent benefits and rewards package:
