Summary We protect everything from bats to buildings to beaches – and we want to share them with everyone too. But how do we care for our special places, while helping everyone to enjoy them and their fascinating stories It’s no small task. In fact, it’s a bigteam effort and it’s why our Collections Assistant are so important.We have two contracts available. One will be 22.5 hours per week based at Mr Straws House. You will be working three days a week based on property needs, including some weekends, with additional hours during peak times.The other will be 15 hours per week based at Clumber Park. You will be working two days a week based on property needs, including some weekends, with additional hours during peak times. What its like to work here Reporting to the Senior Collections and House Officer, you will help supervise and train a growing team of Collections volunteers. Youll be integral to help drive and deliver the programme of conservation work in these historic houses.Joining a skilled and passionate Collections Team in the North Nottinghamshire Portfolio youll help deliver first-rate conservation work at either Mr Straw’s House or Clumber Park, whilst offering assistance when needed to the other property you are notbased at.Hidden away on a quiet suburban street in Worksop,Mr Straws House 7 Blyth Grove is unique; an ordinary house with the most extraordinary story to tell. Presented as it was left in 1990 by William Straw junior, this modest Edwardian semi-detached home islittle changed since the Straw family fashionably redecorated and took up residence in 1923.Click here for more information aboutMr Staws House.Clumber Park is a beautiful expanse of parkland, heath and woods covering more than 3,800 acres. Clumber was once the country estate of the Dukes of Newcastle. What youll be doing As a Collections Assistant, you’ll be working with a great housekeeping team in an incredible place, helping with the day-to-day cleaning and care of the collections. No detail will go unnoticed, and you’ll keep a keen eye on everything from the environmentalconditions in a room, to signs of wear and tear. You’ll keep accurate records too.In this visitor facing role, we’d love you to talk to visitors about the work you’re doing, and the collections we have. Youll also be part of the wider team of employees and volunteers, helping to cover where necessary.Please also read the full role profile, attached to this advert.
