Registered Home Manger - Qualified NurseWoolwell, Plymouth£50,000 Per AnnumJob Purpose of the Registered Home ManagerThe Manager is required to provide effective leadership, governance and management and it is their responsibility to secure, sustain and promote the reputation of the home. To ensure the delivery of high quality holistic care and to create a caring environment conducive to individual needs within a quality assurance framework.Duties and Responsibilities of the Registered Home ManagerTo ensure that agreed quality assurances initiatives are implemented within the home.Liaise with CQC and local authorities and health to ensure satisfactory standards are maintained.To be responsible and accountable for the operational delivery of the care in the home.To provide improvement, independence and choice for residents, making sure they are treated with dignity at all times.To manage the effective use of resources and maintain high levels of occupancy.To comply with all regulatory requirements and in particular the Regulations for the Health and Social Act (2008) Regulated Activities.To ensure policy and procedures are implemented and understood by all the staff to ensure the highest standard of care.Leadership of the Registered Home ManagerTo provide leadership to all staff in order to deliver the highest possible quality of care within a safe working and living environment.To be a good model for all employees, being approachable and providing a regular presence on the "shop floor" as well as being consistent in all actions and decisions.To set and maintain clear standards of care within the home in line with company quality governance systems.To ensure that staff selection processes for all applied thoroughly and that all candidates are treated professionally. To ensure all staff maintain the registration with their professional bodies.To develop a culture of continuous quality improvement using the framework of clinical Governance.To maintain a comprehensive induction process for all new employees to ensure they are effectively introduced to the Home, the residents and good practices within their probation.Ensure that NMC codes of professional conduct and other NMC guidelines relating to professional practices are followed at all times.Take responsibility for the delivery of professional, competent and high quality care.To conduct regular reviews with new employees during their probationary period.Person Specification and Qualifications of the Registered Home Manager Registered Nurse with NMC and/or substantial experience in leadership and management of a Nursing Home which is evidenced.Evidence of continuing professional development.Level 5 or equivalent in Leadership in Health and Social Care.Post registration training Diploma level or Degree.Teaching/mentoring qualification.Experience of the Registered Home ManagerAt least 2 years relevant experience in an operational management capacity in a health and social care settingExperience of working in/managing a nursing care homeExperience of CQC regulations in a nursing care home and quality inspections.Experience of budget management.Experience of inpatient and community teamsExperience of working as a Registered Manager.Knowledge of the Registered Home ManagerA knowledge and understanding of the current legal responsibilities and standards of the service, including the need for the management and delivery of person-centred services.SkillsExcellent communication skillsLeadership qualitiesOrganisational skillsAbility to prioritise workAbility to deal effectively with crises/emergenciesIT literateAbility to work as part of a teamAbility to effectively manage the performance of othersAbility to motivate others to meet deadlinesAbility to recognise and develop additional opportunities for the service and the people using itAbility to develop and promote positive workingrelationships with individual service users, their family and professional colleaguesAbility to cope under pressureA positive attitude to changeWork practice which promotes equality and diversityPersonal Qualities
