Job Description

Cook Location:Roborough House, Woolwell, PlymouthHours: 37.5 hours per weekSalary Details:£11.40 - £12,50 per hour, dependent on experienceRoborough House, in Woolwell, are seeking to recruit a dedicated, passionate and driven Cook to join their catering team on a full-time basis.As a cook within our hospital, you will be required to prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch whilst catering for a range of special dietary requirements. You will be required to work within the companys policies and procedures whilst ensuringhigh levels of health and safety. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of food hygiene with a can-do attitude and good communication and interpersonal skills.Rewards & Benefits:

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Prepare traditional home cooked meals from scratch, and catering for special meals and dietary requirements
  • Working safely within the company policies and procedures
  • Excellent knowledge of food hygiene
  • Knowledge of food ordering
  • Stock rotation
  • Baking cakes, muffins and treats
  • Interacting with residents and meal planning with them
  • Covering sickness and holiday
  • Alternative weekends
  • Working and planning alongside head chef
  • Working alongside the wider, multi-disciplined hospital team to ensure high levels of service and care at all times
The Successful candidate for the role will have:
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure
  • Confidence to work alone and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work alternate weekends
  • Knowledge of food hygiene
