Job Description

Activities Assistant Location:Roborough House, Woolwell, PlymouthHours:Full-Time and Part-Time Hours AvailableSalary Details:£10 per hourWe have an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated, passionate and driven to become part of our Activities team at Roborough House in Woolwell, Plymouth.Roborough House provides expert care and treatment for adults with complex support needs, resulting from mental health disorders, dementias, strokes and progressive neurological conditions and associated comorbidities such as epilepsy, dysphagia, diabetesand behaviours that may challenge a mainstream nursing home.Roborough House is located in Woolwell; a suburb on the north-east fringe of the city of Plymouth, located just outside the citys boundaries in the district of the South Hams. It is situated along the A386, close to the boundary of Dartmoor National Park,with good views of the surrounding landscape.The Role:The ideal candidate will have a creative flair, strong organisational skills, and the ability to relate well to people from all types of backgrounds. You will need to be sociable and able to communicate well with our residents and external activity providers.Previous experience in a similar role or environment would be beneficial however full on the job training and a robust induction will be given.Assess mental and physical needs of all residents regularly to ensure most appropriate activities are conducted Liaise closely with care staff and relatives to assess the most appropriate form of activity. Organise a comprehensive activities programme whichencompasses all seasons and special events.You will contribute to the planning and organising of activities to entertain and enhance daily living, physical, social and emotional needs for each of our residents. You must have a caring nature with the ability to work in a team as well as individually.You will also have to be highly motivated and enthusiastic for making a difference to peoples lives.This role is to work between 40 hrs per week but will consider a job share. You will work on a 4 week rota and may include some weekend work.
