Our client is seeking to recruit a Laboratory technician to join their microbiology team at their Wolverhampton site.Our client is one of the UKs leading food testing companies and this role is to support the microbiology testing of food samples. No previous experience is required as the client will provide full training and support.This role is a great opportunity for a recent graduate to gain some experience in a commercial laboratory. It is also suitable for non graduates who have an interest in science and would work well in a fast paced environment.There are no minimum qualifications but several attributes are required:Strong work ethicManual DexterityAbility to follow SOPsGood teamworkGood communicationAbility to work under pressureThe duties of this role will include:Receipt and registration of samples.Liaising with customers, drivers, and laboratory staff.Temperature loggingLIMS coding and logging, ensuring the system and sample logs are up-to-date.Flexibility to do admin and aid in the laboratory when needed.To carry out all activities in accordance standard operating procedures.This is a 30 hour a week contract. The role will be temporary for a period of 16 weeks with an excellent opportunity to gain a permanent role at the end of 16 weeks.The shift pattern will be:Sunday: 09:00 - 19:30 Monday: 11:30 - 22:00 Tuesday: 11:30 - 22:00If you would like to be considered for this excellent opportunity then please apply now!
