Job Description

Job role: Senior Contracts ManagerSalary: £46,920 - £51,000p/a Depending on Experinace!Hours: Mon- Friday 37.5hrsLocation: Wokingham RG41Permanent Job role!My client aims to provide first class care for all patients who choose to have their treatment at our hospitals. It is essential for the contract management function to be at the forefront of the business to develop good working relationships with commissioners,choice centres, NHS England, NHS Improvement, other providers and other bodies within the NHS environment.The Role:Existing ContractsOverview

  • Develop relationships with key commissioning and contracting personnel in the new CCGs with a view to increasing their knowledge and understanding of the current and future potential of the company in the market for ophthalmology services.
  • Manage any commissioner issues or problems that may exist/arise and work with colleagues to resolve these promptlythus maintaining organizational reputation
  • Prepare monthly / quarterly performance reports
  • Attend contract management and contract negotiation meetings.
  • Ensure that any new contract documentation is supplied and is both accurate and acceptable to both SpaMedica and commissionersincluding:
  • New contract documents
  • In year contract or service variations
  • Commissioner / Provider policies
Existing ContractsManagement
  • Financial Management and Reporting: Ensure that Service Level Agreement
  • Monitoring (SLAM) over-performance invoicing and CQUIN financial reconciliation is both accurate and delivered promptly.
  • Referral and Activity MonitoringManagement of the regional levels of referrals and activity per CCG are monitored to identify trends and provide assurance on capacity.
  • Key Performance Indicators and CQUIN: work with the clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure that KPI and CQUIN reports are submitted to commissioners on time, and include all the required information: ensuring that the correct data are collectedand the correct information is presented in the required format at the right time.
Policy Development
  • Contribute to the review, development and implementation of existing and new Company Policies ensuring that these are compliant with NHS requirements.
Key Working Relationships
  • The post holder will be required to maintain constructive relationships with a broad range of internal stakeholders and role model values and behaviours of a Manager.
  • The post holder will work closely with the informatics department to identify new reports required internally and externally and develop and implement data collection systems to provide timely and accurate data.
Ad HocSupport any other areas of work identified at the discretion of the Head of Contracts/ Board of Directors.Must Haves:
  • Knowledge of National Tariff / PbR and in depth knowledge of standard NHS contracts
  • Understanding of Choose & Book (CAB) and Electronic Referral Systems (ERS)
  • Provider or Commissioner side experience
  • Educated to Degree Level, or, qualified by extensive and demonstrable experience in the field of
  • NHS Public Sector Contracts and Contract Management.
  • Excellent communication skills, including:-
  • written communication, (reports, policy text, correspondence)
  • verbal communication, face to face and by telephone
  • the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside
  • Proven knowledge and experience of contract management within the NHS or healthcare sector, including experience of dealing with the NHS Standard Contract and / or legislation / policies affecting this contract.
  • Experience of creating performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the current NHS landscape
  • IT Literate, including proficiency in Word and Excel, and in web based research.
  • Ability to take on new areas of work previously outside existing experience.
  • Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decision making.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet tight and often changing timescales.

  • Experience of challenging contractual disputes
