Are you looking for a job where you can really make a differenceWe are seeking dedicated and caring Waking Night Support workers for our residential and supported living services, supporting adults with learning disabilities and associated health needs.The people we support are at the heart of everything we do - they are wonderful individuals and deserve to be treated with respect, dignity and choice. Our main priority, therefore, is to find support workers with values, behaviours and attitudes to match our own.Combe House caters for adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health and epilepsy. Currently this is an all-male service. We provide a tailored service to each individual based on their assessed needs and care plan. The ultimate goal is to maintain and increase levels of independence and essential lifestyle skills. Here in Combe house we have a very busy ad vibrant home. There is a large garden where the people we support play skittles, archery, and football. We also have an activity cabin, which is used for playing Nintendo and X-Box games. It is also a place where people can use sensory equipment. The train station in Woking provides services to London Waterloo, Guildford and the south coast.Could this be youOur services operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week,and many of our service usersrequire support during the night.You will be expected to ensure people are supported to gain a good night’s sleep, monitoring any concerns in relation to disturbed sleep patterns and follow relevant support plans designed to promote sleep and wellbeing.You will focus on ensuring the environment at night is safe and contributes to ensuring people are comfortable at night.Your shifts will be allocated on a rota basis, and will include weekends and bank holidays as required.Please note our Waking Night Support Workers are required toremain awake and vigilant throughout their night shift, even breaks. You will be required to check on residents as required by their care plans, and provide any support needed. Sleeping on duty is not permitted at any time. The Ideal Candidate We believe that a successful support worker doesn’t always have experience, but shares our vision to ensure that ‘every moment has potential’ for the people we support to learn new skills and to achieve their goals.Basic numeracy and literacy skills as well as good English are a must.An NVQ/Diploma L2 or 3 in Health and Social Care and some experience in care work would be an added bonus, but we have a fantastic in-house training team who can help you along if you are taking your first steps in your career as a support worker.Above all you need to be kind, caring and ready towork as ateam toensure that our services are comfortable, happy, fulfillingand safe places to live.
