Job Description

Senior Systems EngineerWoking£45,000 - 55,000Are you an experienced Senior Systems Engineer looking for a new challenge within the local areaThe Senior Systems Engineer will:

  • Day to day management and responsibility of all traditional Infrastructure systems
  • Working with VMware platform, Database management systems, Security systems
  • Being responsible for servers, networks, Active Directory, Azure
  • Providing support to the in-house agile product development team
  • Azure DevOps pipelines management and maintenance
  • Support CI/CD capability efforts
  • Azure DevOps project administration
  • Helping to ensure applications meet intended SLAs
  • Responsibility for defining and monitoring quality metrics
  • Assisting with system capacity planning
  • Line management of the team
  • Providing escalation support for helpdesk issues
  • Maintaining effective documentation including SOPs for helpdesk and UIs for users in the teams knowledgebase
  • Reading and following Company policies and procedures at all times
  • Adhering to all General Data Protection Rules and policies (GDPR)
    • Key Skills:
  • Networking TCP/IP / VLANS
  • VMware administration (vSphere / vSAN)
  • Windows client / server administration
  • AD Administration
  • MS Exchange Administration
  • Expert in PowerShell and scripting
  • SQL administration
  • Security (ADFS / SAML/ SSO, Firewalls, VPN)
  • Azure cloud infrastructure system management - (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)
    • Required Qualifications:
  • 3 year minimum experience in a 3rd line IT Support environment
  • GCSE / A-Level qualifications grades A-C
  • Degree in Information Technology - advantageous
  • CCNA - advantageous
  • MCSE
