Job Description

Imperial Technical Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Senior Software Developer with extensive experience of the energy / oil and gas sectors - notably in software applications for Oil and Gas Asset Management purposes.The role is home based and will report into one of Aberdeens leading Service Providers to the Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Sectors, with responsibilities for inhouse software development as well as engagement with some of the worlds leading operators in the energy sector.Our ClientWe are working with a leading international service provider to the energy industry, with a diverse client portfolio including many of the world’s leading energy companies.They design, build, manage and maintain infrastructure for the energy industries.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overseeing and carrying out work with emphasis on product quality
  • Design, development, testing and implementation of both internal and client driven software projects.
  • Coordination of multiple simultaneous streams of software development between existing and potential clients
  • Collaboration with Application Team Lead by validating the product roadmap, setting priorities, and providing estimates.
  • Ensure document quality and technical accuracy.
  • Creation and maintenance of development documentation (coding standards etc.). on both an internal and external basis
  • Mentor junior developers
  • Assist with any change or improvement processes that will be developed during the lifecycle of the product development.
  • Take an active role in technology discussions and work as part of the Development Team to screen selections and ensure relevant and appropriate tech is proposed for the right reasons.
  • Assist with management team in all aspects of development, marketing, sales, engineering as required by the product.
  • Interact with client users to provide support on the product lines, as necessary.
    • Essential Skills
  • A degree in a technical discipline or proven practical experience.
  • Good knowledge and experience in O&G asset integrity and maintenance software application development
  • Excellent knowledge and experience of .NET and web-based technologies with emphasis on the following:
  • ASP.NET / Web API / MVC (C#) / Web Forms
  • C#.Net
  • HTML / CSS / JavaScript / AJAX
  • JavaScript framework experience e.g. Angular, Knockout, React
  • SQL Database Development and Administration
  • SQL Server Transact SQL (T-SQL)
  • Entity Framework
  • Very Good knowledge of software development techniques, practices and patterns
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft server environments:
  • Microsoft IIS
  • Microsoft SQL Server
  • Source Control Management, Git, TFS
  • Requirements gathering and documenting.
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to mentor and motivate team members.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
