Job Description

Senior Electronics EngineerAn ambitious growing manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer to join their Electronics Engineering team in Woking.As a company who value innovation and excellence in their products, this is a great opportunity for a SeniorElectronics Engineer to join the business and help contribute to the companies ambitious growth plans and future product pipeline.This role is a good opportunity for an experienced Senior Electronics Engineer who is looking to further their skillset and is looking for further personal development.This is a varied role and as a Senior Electronics Engineer you will:

  • Execution of research into new electronic components for continuous improvement of performance and cost. Technical leadership on selected projects
  • Assistance to production and supply chain in the introduction of new products.
  • Generation of quantifiable electronic specifications based on internal or external customer system requirements.
  • Execution of root cause analysis of production/design problems to a successful conclusion.
  • Electronic design of precision electronic and electromagnetic systems from concept through to production ensuring:
  • Designs work, are innovative, cost effective, fit for purpose and reliable.
  • Effective use of CAD design tools (Altium, LTSpice, CAD trace calculators, Thermal calculation).
  • Appropriate use of design techniques, i.e. FEA, CFD, DFMA, etc.
  • Effective process selection, e.g. Soldering: reflow/vapor/wave, SMD/through hole, plating, via technology, testability, layer stack, thermal dissipation and conduction etc.
  • Operational and legal compliance
  • Supervision and conduct of test work both in-house and at external EMC test houses.
  • Electronics project leadership on specific development activities
  • Support and oversight of outsourced work as required
  • Development of verification and production test plans, including customised test equipment design.
    • The successful Senior Electronics Engineer will have:
  • 5+ years of experience in analogue and digital circuit design
  • Thorough appreciation of Design Verification Testing
  • 5+ years of experience in multilayer PCB layout
  • Experience in designing for EMC and resolving issues
  • 2.1 Hons or higher qualification in Electronics Engineering
  • Embedded software and firmware experience to support architectural design considerations, board bring up, board proving and troubleshooting during integration.
  • Experience in leadership roles on business critical projects
  • Practical experience of delivering high speed digital design
  • Experience planning and working to schedules in rapid development cycles
  • Good written and verbal communication skills - experienced at writing high quality documentation to describe designs and test requirements for electronics subsystems.
  • Experience with analogue signal conditioning, protection circuitry and power supplies
  • Solid understanding of brushless motor design concepts
  • Demonstrable expertise in analogue design
