International charity that supports wellbeing across the world is seeking a Project Accountant to maintain and update their current leases. Demonstrable experience of reporting under IFRS 16 & ASC842 is essential for the completion of this project for 3-6 months. Audit experience and strong technical accounting skills are required including IFRS & USGAAP as well as being highly analytical.You responsibilities will include:• Understanding, maintaining, and updating the current leases (c800 worldwide)• Determine the Income & Expenditure and the Balance sheet impact of the new leases’ standards IFRS16 and ASC842, to ensure accounting is up to date and accurate for monthly and annual statutory reporting.• Ensure preparation of complete and accurate lease calculations and journal entries in accordance with appropriate lease accounting standards for the month end and annual statutory reporting.• Ensure that the balance sheet on leases is reconciled and review any reconciling items and ensure cashflow reflects lease usage appropriately• Effectively collaborate with the various Country Offices and National Organisations• Prepare technical papers for internal use and to support the annual audit.• Prepare updates to the lease accounting policies and assist with the leases audit process.• Preparation of the transaction notes, journals with supporting narrative and disclosures for the annual consolidated financial statements• Develop and implement technical training for key colleagues, particularly subject matter experts to build a higher level of general understanding of the key technical issues on lease accounting • Support potential software solutions for Lease accounting and support the delivery or its implementationWhat you will need to be great for this role:• Qualified Chartered Accountant (ICAEW or internationally recognised equivalent) - Essential • IFRS 16 and ASC842 - Essential• Good understanding of INGO and charity regulatory environment - preferred• Audit experience and exceptionally strong technical accounting skills essential in both IFRS and USGAAP• Good communication skills• Excellent analytical skills and good double entry essential• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skillsYou are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.Due to the high volume of applications we receive it is not always possible to respond to unsuccessful applicants.
