Job Description

About the role Are you keen to make a difference to the outcomes of vulnerable children and young people with additional educational needsDo you enjoy the challenges and the rewards which come from successfully engaging pupils with their learningThis is an exciting role, and we are looking for a creative, dynamic, confident and competent individual to start in September. You will work alongside colleagues in mainstream settings, supporting the successful integration of pupils with social, emotional or mental health difficulties (SEMH) which form a barrier to their learning and achievement. Some of the pupils you work with will be returning to mainstream school from placement at pupil referral units, and others will be at risk of exclusion and referred into our team by their schools. You will use your experience when working alongside support staff and teachers in schools to support the implementation of practical recommendations to "close the gap" and promote inclusion.Your work will be directed by a Specialist Teacher for Inclusive Practice, and you will be part of an experienced, supportive, flexible and forward-looking team who seek to ensure the inclusion of pupils with social and emotional difficulties in their school through consultation and setting target outcomes with SMART actions to help achieve those outcomes.The office base is Quadrant Court in Woking, but you will be expected to travel to different schools within the North West of Surrey (Woking, Runnymede and Surrey Heath) so will need to possess a full driving licence and have the use of a car.This post is term time only and is for 28.5 hours per week.Next stepsTo be shortlisted for interview to this post, your application and personal statement will clearly evidence:
