Job Description

- Patient Services Administrator – Primary Care Directorate, Taunton and Somerset Trust & Somerset Partnership AllianceAre you an experienced administrator looking for a varied and fast-paced role in the NHSThis is an exciting opportunity to join the team at one of the Primary Care Directorate practices.The Primary Care Directorate is a group of 4 GP practices; Warwick House Surgery (Taunton), Creech Medical Centre (Creech St Michael), North Petherton Surgery and Lister House Surgery in Wiveliscombe, who integrated in the local NHS Foundation Trusts.The opportunity: We currently have a vacancy at Lister House Surgery, Wiveliscombe to join our friendly and supportive team. The post is for 18 hours per week.The person: We are seeking enthusiastic and friendly individuals who enjoy people contact and working in a busy, friendly, multi-disciplinary team environment to support us in the delivery of a quality service.Whilst previous experience of working in a similar role or the NHS is advantageous, personal qualities are just as important in this role. We are looking for people with strong people skills who will be an effective team player, feel comfortable dealing with patients and wants to develop their skills and role.If you have previous experience of a role within a GP practice, we would help you develop further and are particularly interested in hearing from you. However, full training and support will be available to anyone new to general practice.You will also be flexible, motivated and organised with excellent administration, data management and communication skills. Successful applicants will possess the ability to work independently, accurately and efficiently, but in a supportive environment.It is essential that the practice is adequately staffed at all times and the successful applicant will be expected to be flexible with regards to cover for absences due to holidays or sickness.The Role: This is a varied and interesting job and involves performing a range of tasks, including face to face and telephone contact with patients as well as administrative tasks.
