Job Description

A1 Personnel are currently recruiting for a Wood machinist/ Bench Joiner for a permanent role on behalf of our client based in Witham.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements.
  • Measure and mark wood surfaces to ensure accurate shaping and cutting
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Set up and operate woodworking machinery and tools such as saws, planers, jointers, routers, and sanders.
  • Collaborate with the production team to meet project deadlines and quality standards.
  • Inspect finished products for defects, ensuring they meet quality specifications.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Wood Machinist or similar role.
  • Proficient in operating and maintaining woodworking machinery and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of different wood types, grain patterns, and their characteristics.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and guidelines in a woodworking environment.
  • Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in woodworking is preferred.
Hours:Monday to Friday: 8am-5pm + overtimes
