Do you have strong organisational and time management skills along with experience of working in a supervisory capacity within a warehouse. If so this global freight forwarding and warehousing company are keen to recruit a Warehouse Supervisor to support the Warehouse Manager in the day to day running of the site and acting as his deputy in his absence.DutiesAs an active member of the Warehouse management team you will offer suggestions for problem solving and improving efficiencies.Ensure that staff are adequately informed of their tasks and objectives and safety requirements and are competent to carry out their function.Lead by example and demonstrate a desire to progress and motivate employees to achieve high standards. Carry out employee inductions, manage employees throughout the probation period ensuring they are fully aware of the companys procedures and health & safety guidelines.Assist with training for warehouse staff, including on-the-job coaching, evaluate effectiveness in terms of improved individual and team performance.Receive, identify, dispatch and assure quality of goods. Liaise with customers to answer questions or solve problems efficiently.Schedule, organise and manage the work of all subordinates to ensure that work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organisational requirements. Ensure the appropriate levels of overtime and agency workers to efficiently and cost effectively run the shifts. Provide guidance to employees in an open and friendly manner.Manage Goods Inwards area Manage stock transaction records Assist the Warehouse Manager with maintenance of the site facilities. Use space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently, ensuring that safety, quality, budgetary targets and environmental objectives are met.Skills & ExperienceMust have strong warehouse supervisory experience including management of staffFork truck licenceMust have a Full, clean UK driving licenceKnowledge of Health & Safety and Quality Management systemsGood IT skills including word, excel and outlookAble to lead and work within a teamMust be flexible, happy to travel to regional sites and work varied hoursBenefitsHours either 8.00am 5.00pm depending on which site you are based22 days holiday plus bank holidaysOccasional paid overtime Required skills
