Transport Planner Do you want to work for a succesful Worldwide Logistics companyAn award-winning company providing a range of services both collection and delivery throughout mainland UKThis company is well establisehed they operate a large, wholly owned fleet of vehicles. They provide nationwide and local distribution. They can offer you a secure role and future with the company at these uncertain times.They are looking for a Transport Planner based Witham.Main purpose of the role: Plan and allocate the resources with the Pallet Network and Local Transport fleet.Your day to day duties will entail:• Plan and allocate all Pallet Network and assigned General Haulage consignments plus customs collections to local Palletforce fleet ensuring optimum utilisation and profitability within the constraints of cargo availability, vehicle availability, customer requirements and legal restrictions.• Prepare and produce Vehicle and Load Manifests and customer paperwork and present to the Warehouse and assigned drivers.• Provide the main point of contact for driver, resolving email and telephone queries and complaints courteously and efficiently.• Liaise and communicate with internal and external customers.• Transport administration and data update within various operating systems• Liaise with the Night Trunk drivers to identify and plan their arrival back at the depot• Assist the Transport Manager in the management of the Fleet’s headcount. • Provide a friendly and helpful Driver Reception service, greeting each driver and allocating their vehicle keys and Manifest of work up, until the main shift commences.• Support and actively participate in answering incoming calls.• Be reactive to daily problems and be prepared to be reactive to emergenciesWe are looking for : Two years experience of working within a Transport office. General Haulage route planning. Routing and management of 20+ vehicles. Vehicle weights and legal limits. Drivers Hours and Working Time Directive Regulations. Operators Licence obligations, undertakings and Regulations. Road Traffic Laws. Construction and Use Regulations. Vehicle costs. Microsoft Word and Excel at entry level.Ability to communicate at all levels. Ability to work unsupervised.Calm and ability to work under pressure.Flexible approach to hours of work.Applies attention to detail.Team player.Working hours: Monday to Friday, 40-hour week on a fortnightly rotating shift pattern (this includes a one hour meal break which is unpaid) as per below: Week 1 Monday - Friday 7.a.m. - 4 p.m. Week 2 Monday - Friday 11 a.m. - 8 p.m.Benefits details: •£24000• 30 days annual holiday, including Bank Holidays • Contributory Pension Scheme • Employee Assistance programme • Cycle to work scheme Required skills
