Company Profile:A growing quarrying & aggregates company located on the outskirts of Witham, Essex are seeking aTransport Planner & Commercial Coordinator to join their team. This family run company have been established for 4 years and currently have a head count of around 10 staff. This is a permanent role which is offering a competitive salary.The Role:You will have responsibility for coordinating aggregate deliveries using the company’s owned fleet andthird party hauliers.Some 3rd party broking of aggregates will also be involved to meet customers’ requirements.Working in close coordination with the sales function of the business.Running the existing 6 vehicle tipper fleet whilst supporting planned future expansion.Reporting to the managing director on a daily basis.Pricing up of any haulage work that comes in.Assist management in implementing a planned paperless ordering and POD system.You will also have day to day responsibility for administering the regulatory responsibilities of running a HGV fleet e.g. tachograph data, monitoring drivers hours, booking vehicle inspections, generalmaintenance, etc., and dealing with any issues as they arise during the working day.Providing rate quotes and process customer bookings.Overseeing the timely delivery of goods.Vigorous oversight of costs and to recommend and swiftly implement savings and more efficient routings.Managing drivers and issuing and updating daily work schedules.Deal with customer complaints if there are any delivery issues.Candidate requirements:-Aggregates / construction background is essential for this role-Transport coordinating - costing and PnL work-Experience managing key regulatory requirements such as vehicle inspections, drivers hours,tachograph data etc.-Transport Managers CPC would be a benefit but not essential-Will have good commercial awareness and experience in pricing haulage work /aggregate salesAbility to work under pressureCompany Benefits:Free ParkingCompany PhonePension20 days holiday plus bank holidaysPlease note, If you havent heard back from us within 14 days your application has unfortunately been unsuccessful on this occasion.
