Job Description

Trainee Laboratory Analyst Witham - c£25k plus benefits Working hours: 4 x extended days 7.00-5.30pm (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday)Overall purpose of job:Ensuring conformance to published quality standards including product safety and legality.Taking responsibility and maintaining the day to day running of laboratory activities.Manage aspects of the relationship between the lab and other Company departments.Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Analysis (Testing to Pharmacopoeias and other specificaitons)
  • Progressing method development
  • Recording and maintaining of test results
  • Generation of certificates of analysis
  • Ensuring Work Instructions pertaining to the Laboratory are kept up to date and comply with standards.
  • Creating/updating Laboratory procedures.
  • Maintaining calibration records for the Laboratory and Production
  • Ensuring Tests are carried out at the required dates.
  • Ensuring compliance with the requirement of DAPS.
  • Ensure Laboratory equipment is properly maintained in accordance with standards including ISO, Procheck and Daps and all required validation and methodology.
  • Maintaining samples and recording details on record.
  • Dealing with HMRC as required.
  • Answering basic customer queries.
  • Performing OOS (Out of Spec) investigations
  • IT: HICS, HICS CoA, Goldvision, Access Database, GC, UV/VIS, IR softwares.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred (training can be provided to the right candidate):
  • Experience in maintaining a quality control laboratory
  • Experience of laboratory analysis within the pharmaceutical or related industry.
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific subject or equivalent
