Job Description

7 x General Operator Roles£18,500 p.a.4 Day Working Week - NO WEEKENDS, NO SHIFTS!Witham, Essex39 Hours Per Week, 7.30AM - 17:15PMDo you have experience in operating equipment and machinery Are you experienced in working within a warehouse environment If so, our client based in Witham, Essex, has a fantastic opportunity available for 7 General Operatorsto join their team!As a General Operator you shall be responsible for safely and efficiently completing manual tasks, and if required, the operation of equipment within the warehouse in order to maximise output.Key Areas of ResponsibilityOperations

  • To complete any manual operations, and operate any equipment within the warehouse that you have been trained in.
  • Complete standard quality tests within your area.
  • To highlight any and all issues on customer supply to your Manager.
  • Report all plant defects using the PDR process.
  • To highlight any opportunities for improvement and assist in actioning these where possible.
  • Assist in resolving any discrepancies with stock.
  • Participate, if needed, in project teams for improvement, either within your immediate department or on wider company issues.
  • Fork-Truck driving as and when needed, only if trained and instructed to do so.
  • Assist management with maximising efficiency and output, whilst supporting other team members to achieve maximum output.
  • Assist with the control of temporary staff on the line.
  • Troubleshoot filling line problems such as; equipment, people, material or machinery.
  • If required/requested, you may from time to time need to work within other departments.
  • Take ownership of the task that you are doing, leading, supporting and directing agency workers in order to complete set tasks efficiently.
    • Safety, Health & EnvironmentAs a General Operator you shall be required to ensure that you are capable of performing tasks safely whilst observing all Health & Safety and Hygiene policies set out within the company. For any unsafe practices, you shall need to work to correct these. In the event of observing another employee, contractor or visitor putting themselves or others in danger, you would be required to intervene.In addition you shall need to:
  • Complete any paperwork required in order to support and improve the Safety, Health and Environment within the warehouse.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and GMP procedures, practises and standards within the production area.
  • Report any and all accidents and incidents.
  • Assist in Risk Assessments for tasks in your area.
    • Quality
  • Understand and follow relevant ISO procedures.
  • Inspect materials on delivery to work area for suitability, using established systems and procedures as a guide.
  • Report all non-conformances in quality.
  • Complete all required on-line checks and record results.
  • Monitor and address any quality issues with temporary staff within your area.
    • Customer Service
  • Have a mature, positive and open attitude toward colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly and openly in respect of any issues and opportunities
  • Use a team approach when dealing with issues that affect your team and others.
  • Attend toolbox meetings as and when required using them as a communication medium for issues affecting performance, safety or quality.

  • Follow site procedures to comply with HMRC requirements.

  • As a General Operator you shall need to be vigilant of employees, contractors and visitors on site reporting anything suspicious to your team leader or coordinator.
