Job Description

About Our Client:Exciting opportunities to work within a growing company.Our Client is a precision engineering company based in Witham in Essex, specialising in complex prismatic parts for transmission and drive trains for aerospace, motorsport and the oil and gas industries.About the vacant positionPosition available: Experienced CNC TurnerJob Duties:Role Purpose: To be involved in programming, setting and operating CNC machines. You will be involved in machining interesting parts that are small to medium batch quantities. The applicant will be required to create programs using CNC latheson Mazak and Fanuc based machining centers. The applicant would be expected to understand drawings with close tolerances and be experienced in machining different types of materials.Responsibilities:

  • Planning machining by studying works orders.
  • Directly involved in continuous improvement programs and quality control.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.
  • Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualification & skills required for this position: Essential Requirements:
  • To be able to program, set and operate lathes
  • To be able to read drawings and understand critical features
  • To be able to find efficient methods of producing parts
  • To be able to write, prove and run programs
  • To be able to troubleshoot problems
  • To be able to inspect parts to Drawings
  • To be able to continuously look to improve methods, efficiency and procedures
  • To be able to work to high-precision machining
  • To be able to work to close tolerances on a variety of materials to engineering drawings.
  • Experienced in work-holding methods and best practice
Desirable Skills (Non-Essential):
  • Preferably someone who has used Hypermill Camware or similar camware but this is not essential.
  • To have some experience or training in robotics
  • Program Mazak/Fanuc Machines
  • Apprentice Trained
Hours of work: Monday–Friday 7.30 am– 4 pm (40 hours) with 2 x 15mins paid tea breaks and 30mins unpaid lunch breakJob Types: Permanent
