Job Description

As a Desktop Support Engineer in the Clients Infrastructure Team, you will be responsible for supporting the Clients European desktop environment, which is a typical blend of Microsoft and some supplementary systems from other providers. This is a remote role, however will require you to live in the UKOur client runs modern desktop solutions and cloud-based services for its staff to support a distributed cloud based environment and will give you the opportunity to work in a multidisciplinary team.You will interface with all levels of the business and have a global responsibility (UK, Europe). You will excel in an internal support role and be able to troubleshoot issues and handle incident escalations (sometimes out-of-hours) while promoting production change management processes and procedures.Qualifications/Experience

  • You will have at least 5 years’ experience in a Windows desktop support role and, more recently, modern cloud technology.
  • You will be enthusiastic, organised and adaptable; a quick learner, who is able to adopt new technology with ease. You will have self-confidence, good interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to integrate seamlessly with other IT professionals.
  • You will have excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and be able to operate effectively in a team environment with both technical and non-technical team members.
    • You will be responsible for managing a variety of operating systems, tools, processes and technologies including:
  • Microsoft, including Azure AD, Office 365 (Office, SharePoint, OneDrive) and Windows10
  • Automated OS deployment utilising Autopilot/Intune
  • Mobile management (MAM, MDM)
  • Enterprise Anti-Virus, Spyware and Encryption, DLP, website filtering
  • Microsoft PowerShell
  • Remote access technology and multi factor authentication
  • Working technical knowledge of DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP
  • General cloud SaaS solutions
  • Desktops, laptops, servers and printers, Android and iPhone
  • Systems patching
  • Joiners, Movers, Leavers processes
  • Computer and software asset and licence tracking
  • User ID and application access control
  • Incident management ticketing system
  • Monitoring
  • Cloud Telephony
    • Experience/certification in or knowledge of any of the following would also be an advantage:
  • MCSE, MCSA or any relevant Windows Server Certifications
  • Office 365
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Microsoft Azure WVD
  • ManageEngine
  • Active Directory Configuration and management
  • Intune device Policy configuration
    • Experience of working in the financial sector could also be beneficial.
