Job Description

Wellbeing WorkerAn exciting position has become available for a permanent part time Wellbeing Worker based in Wishaw. The successful candidate will earn £10.45/hour. Hours of work 2 x 18.75 hour/week vacancies, to be worked on a flexible basis over 3- or 4-days Mon- every other Sat this can also include some evenings as required.This is an exciting role in a new venture with an opportunity to bring your ideas to life within a brand new and unique environment. You will also bring creative and innovative ideas to help support the aims of the facility.Role Requirements

  • Experience of working with people in support/development role
  • Ability to work on own, as well as ability to work as part of a team
  • A positive attitude towards mental health
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to develop a rapport with people
  • Knowledge/experience of mental health issues
  • Experience of working with volunteers/trainees
  • Understanding of the local community
  • Role Responsibilities
  • To develop an initial rapport with people using structured conversations to enable and empower them to identify their priorities and goals
  • To identify resources/activities/services that could assist the person improve or maintain their health and wellbeing.
  • Support and encourage people to take an active role in the management of their health
  • To assist people to be more aware of and to use community-based resources
  • To signpost and assist people where necessary to obtain advice and information
  • To signpost and assist people where necessary to access services provided by relevant statutory or community-based organisations
  • To obtain ongoing feedback from participants to determine need to retain current wellbeing activities and also determine new activities
  • To co-ordinate the work of sessional wellbeing practitioners to ensure a choice of activities is available on a daily basis
  • To book attenders into relevant wellbeing sessions and ensure maximum numbers per session are not exceeded
  • To maintain a positive working relationship with sessional wellbeing practitioners.
  • To work flexibly to meet the needs of the facility. This can include evening and weekend work when necessary.

  • To ensure participants are fully aware of involvement opportunities within organisation
  • Develop and maintain your knowledge and understanding of local services and resources in the voluntary and statutory sectors, particularly the activities, services, information and approaches that support health, wellbeing and self-management.
  • Build excellent working relationships and develop effective pathways to a range of service providers within the statutory/public and 3rd sector
  • To work positively and promote the work of the organisation in a proactive manner.
  • Record keeping
  • To complete standard paperwork/online forms following initial contact.
  • To keep accurate and up-to-date written records of work in keeping with policies and procedures related to facility.
  • To gather, record and collate data, including case studies/service user stories in a prescribed format for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
  • Personal Development
  • To participate in regular individual and team supervision sessions.
  • To attend and participate in organisational team meetings and work positively as part of the organisation and extended team.
  • Managing Risk
  • To report any perceived risks or significant changes in people to senior staff and relevant other agencies without delay.
  • To comply with Data Protection regulations ensuring personal information remains confidential and is securely stored
  • To ensure that any requirements or regulations made by the organisation or statutory agencies with regard to confidentiality, health and safety, Covid-19, environmental health and fire precautions are fully met.
  • To unlock/lock premises and operate alarm system as required.
