Job Description

Michael Page Finance are partnered exclusively with an Engineering business in Wishaw to recruit a Management Accountant position.Client DetailsAn autonomous business unit which forms part of a global parent company.DescriptionThe Management Accountant will form part of a Finance team of 4 people. Reporting to the Financial Controller the main responsibilities are:

  • Leading role in the month end close including review of sales and GP against budget and forecast as per Group reporting timetable
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts including reporting to Group
  • Responsible for month end journals including bank payments and receipts, depreciation, prepayments & accruals, salaries, purchasing card and employee expenses
  • Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support the budget and quarterly forecasting process
  • Liaison with auditors to support the annual audit process and preparation of statutory accounts
  • Quarterly reviews of stock & WIP
  • Consolidate weekly depot forecasts (revenue and bookings)
  • Responsible for preparation of weekly cash forecast and reporting against forecast
  • Collation of variable payroll and submission to group payroll department.
  • Responsible for submission of quarterly VAT returns
  • Ensuring compliance with Group Limit of Authority
  • Supervision of credit control activity including management of retentions
  • Supervision of purchase ledger activity, including reviewing and authorising supplier payments
  • Any other duties as reasonably requested
ProfileThe successful Management Accountant will have a prior working knowledge of a similar role. A professional accountancy qualification is preferable but not essential. Prior staff supervisory experience would also be desirable.Job OfferA competitive salary of up to £45,000.
