My client are a leading engineering business with a history of delivering innovative and high quality products into a wide variety of sectors.Throughout the last 12 months, they have remained busy and are going into the 2021/22 with a strong order book, giving them the confidence to bring in new staff to help with their growth plans. Your role as Workshop Supervisor is hugely important to the manufacturing capability of this business, as you will be responsible for the output, efficiency and day to day line management of 10 skilled engineers within a production cell. You will be the first port of call for all operational and quality related queries, including employee welfare, safety, product quality and performance, and as such the successful candidate will be expected to autonomously lead the function to achieve their output goals. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:- Ensure adequate labour is in place to complete scheduled workload- Ensure all jobs are completed within the specified timescales and to the required standards- Ensure compliance to H&S, Quality and Product standards and systems- Work collaboratively with other Supervisors within the business- Contribute and lead business improvement projects in line with scope of role.Ideally you will be apprentice trained or qualified to HND level in an engineering discipline, and have 3-5 years experience in a First Line or Workshop Supervisor position. Experience in an engineering, fabrication or assembly function is essential, as is knowledge of welding, pneumatics and mechanical fitting techniques, as these will be bulk of the make of the teams work.
