Job Description

The Leader Group is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our team at a SEMH/EBD children residential home located in Walpole Highway. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support andcare for children with challenging behaviours, helping them develop essential life skills and promoting their overall well-being.Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and support to children with EBD, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor, promoting positive behaviour and emotional development.
  • Assist with the implementation of individual care plans, including personal care, therapy, and educational activities.
  • Build positive relationships with the children, their families, and external professionals involved in their care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of daily activities, incidents, and progress.
  • Support and supervise a team of support workers, providing guidance, feedback, and training as required.
  • Collaborate with the management team to ensure the smooth operation of the residential home.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with EBD is essential.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
  • Flexibility to work occasional sleep-in shifts as required.
Salary and Benefits: The pay for this position ranges from approximately £12.30 to £13.30 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications. In addition, there are occasional sleep-in shifts, which will be compensated separately according to the agreedterms and conditions.
