Job Description

Summary In 2022, Peckover House and Garden opened the first National Trust meeting space where people living with mild to moderate dementias their families, and carers, can come together and share experiences, gain new skills, and take a break from caring responsibilities.This new service, Damsons, currently offers twice-weekly sessions in the newly renovated Reed Barn and thanks to funding from AIM Connected Communities we now have the opportunity to grow this offer for local people and secure its future.We are seeking a Project Co-ordinator to join our project team on a 12-month fixed term contract to provide administrative support to the project team and deliver some participant focussed sessions.If you’re well organised with bags of initiative and good at developing relationships, then this could be the ideal role for you. You’ll work alongside a close team of operationalstaff and volunteers and connect with regional specialists as well as external partners. You’ll also be part of a national network of project professionals, benefiting from shared learning and development opportunities. The role will be based at Peckover House,with hybrid-working enabling you to balance your workdays between home and the property. What youll be doing Within the Damsons team, it’s all about supporting people. You’ll organise and administer meetings and minutes for the Project Manager, keeping on top of all project activity. You’ll research and present information, offering an efficient and effective businesssupport service.Working within the appropriate project frameworks you’ll provide a clear audit trail for decisions and activities undertaken within the project, regularly reporting on progress against budgets, programme of work and funding. Supporting project communications,you’ll proactively keep stakeholders and project team members up to date, celebrating achievements and highlighting any risks or issues.You’ll support the creative activity planning and preparation of resources for the sessions. You’ll lead sessions with volunteers that deliver positive and engaging activities for people with sensory needs using the collections and gardens at Peckover andprovide a welcome and inclusive environment which encourages participant independence.Specialised training in working with people living with dementias will be provided and it will be necessary to take part in an advance DBS check as part of this appointment. Who were looking for With experience of working in a project or administrative environment, you’ll know how to support a team to deliver effectively. We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • Excellent organisational and planning skills
  • Great people skills that build good working relationships
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good research and reporting skills
  • Knowledge of budgets, finance, and co-ordination of projects
  • The ability to work well both in a team and on your own initiative.
  • Good IT skills (Microsoft Office)
