Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for a Procurement Manager to join this highly reputable & well established Luxury Retailer.Based out of an office, at their manufacturing base, in Wisbech, you will also have the option for some hybrid working.You should have a strong Purchasing Manager / Procurement Manager background - please note this is a stand alone role, where you will have full responsibility & authority. You must be happy with a blend of the day to day more menial tasks, as well as the more strategic duties.Duties include:

  1. Aggregate and rationalise client product requirements and purchase specific products to timescales agreed to ensure that every client delivery is achieved.
  2. Where appropriate, ensure that stock levels are maintained, and orders placed both internally and externally for the products required daily. For both retail and manufacturing.
  3. Ensure suppliers are performing to satisfactory levels required by the business including pricing and service offering.
  4. Provide regular reports and information as specified and where necessary.
  5. Maintain pricing data on the relevant systems.
  6. Effective selection and ongoing management of supply chain arrangements, to act as the conduit between the company and suppliers / manufacturers.
  7. Continuous review of suppliers performance and trading activity.
  8. Regularly negotiate competitive pricing, including discounts and rebates.
  9. Review of material costs on a regular basis and to continually look for opportunities to reduce costs without sacrificing quality.
  10. Optimise and manage the purchase order process to ensure price, quality and service from suppliers.
  11. Manage stock value and volumes and the stock intake process to ensure availability to the manufacturing facility.
  12. Ensure the company operates effectively through the use of preferred suppliers.
  13. Assist in timely delivery of projects and elimination of any surplus material. Any surplus needs to be tracked and appropriately reallocated.
  14. Liaise with supervisors to control stock located on site.
  15. Ensure timely and consistent stock control and availability (stores).
  16. Maintain accurate stock records.
  17. Manage stock take and analyse any inconsistencies, as necessary.
  18. Maintain up to date pricing on the company database.
  19. Report on the cost saving and other procurement activities, as needed.
  20. Implementation and management of procurement policy and process across the company.
Required:
  • Strong supply chain / procurement / purchasing experience.
  • Relevant industry experience would be useful but not essential.
  • Good IT literacy - Word, Excel, Outlook & ability to pick up in-house systems quickly.
  • Excellent communication skills with an ability to negotiate effectively & build relationships with suppliers & internal stakeholders
  • Self-motivated & able to work autonomously.
  • Excellent attention to detail & numeracy
