Job Description

HGV Class 1 Driver - Nights - Wisbech, Cambridgeshire- £11.75/hourWe are looking for an experienced HGV Class 1 Driver, with a current, valid licence appropriate to the category, to join a transportation company based near Wisbech, working nights.Joining a fast-paced warehouse and transportation company, the HGV Class 1 Driver is responsible for undertaking delivery / collection of products during night shifts, Monday to Friday.Key responsibilities as the HGV Class 1 Night Driver will include:

  • General driving duties, observing current legal and best practice, delivering and collecting products
  • Wearing correct company uniform and PPE
  • Maintaining a professional standard when representing ATL whilst delivering, driving or collecting products
  • Carrying out pre-use checks prior to using any equipment / vehicles / trailers and complying with appropriate procedures and documentation
  • Maintaining vehicles as needed
  • Complying with all EU drivers’ hours/tachograph/WTD regulationsPlus more.
    • Skills and experience required to undertake this role:
  • Previous experience as a HGV Class 1 Driver
  • Current, valid licence appropriate to the category required (C1 fro 7.5t MAM, C for rigid vehicles up to 32 MAM and C+E for articulated vehicles)
  • A current Driver Qualification Card
  • A current / working digi-tacho card
  • Candidates must be 25 years of age or over with at least 2 years relevant driving experience
  • Experience of loading / unloading and delivering goods (multi-drop experience is desirable)
  • No more than 6 points (current) on licence and no endorsements for DD /DR offence codes
  • Reasonable geographical knowledge of the UK
  • Good understanding of Drivers Hours and WTD regulations
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills
  • Due to the location of the workplace access to a vehicle will be required
