Job Description

Providing a comprehensive rangeof high-quality acute care services, serving a population of about 400,000 people across Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Neston, North Wales, and the wider Northwest footprint. Based in 4 locations Arrowe Park Hospital, Clatterbridge Hospital, and Wirral Women andChildrens Hospital.What youll be responsible for:

  • Manage own workload, reporting back to the line manager regarding any problems arising.
  • Communicate with patients regarding appointments and referrals.
  • Responsible for typing reports and letters for consultants and arranging appointments.
  • General office duties as required.
  • Referring work for external reporting when required booking in/out material as required.
  • Ensure effective communication within the Trust and between hospitals, General Practitioners, and patients.
  • Maintain patient medical records, including a system for requesting, recording, dispatch and receipt of medical records.
  • Provide a secretarial service, accurately producing from audio/copy, patient related correspondence, reports, discharges of a sensitive and complex nature using appropriate software and within specific timescales.
  • Receive incoming telephone calls, using judgement to establish validity/priority of content.
The role will involve, but not be limited to you performing the above.Youll learn the following whilst working at the trust:
  • An in depth understanding of the roles and responsibilities involved in working within the NHS.
  • Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times.
  • A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
Youll have the following skills/experience:
  • AMSPAR Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent experience
  • RSA Level II word processing or equivalent
  • Experience of audio typing
  • Experience of working in an administrative role.
  • Good IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office
  • Good time management/organisational skills
  • System knowledge - Cerner system
