And its why were the UKs No. 1 choice for business waste management.Help us make a difference as a Street Cleansing Manager.A quick look at the role.The Street Cleansing Manager has overall responsibility for effective and efficient delivery of the street cleansing service. The post-holder supports the Street Cleansing Supervisory team in the management of the street cleansing workforce ensuring that the requirements of the Contract are delivered and KPIs met and exceeded, including health and safety and service delivery targets. The post-holder also provides support with the management of the collections service if required.The post-holder is required to develop additional services and revenue streams and identify cost savings to existing services.The Biffa division youll be supporting.Biffas household waste division delivers a range of cost-efficient, quality-led waste management services for 31 local authorities across the UK. With over 3,300 staff and around 1,562 specialist vehicles, our domestic waste management division makes 4.3 million collections each week from over 2.3 million households across Britain.Why its an opportunity not to be wasted.

  • Ensure all areas of budget responsibility are achieved and weekly KPIs are met, highlighting any variances between budget and actual. Develop, implement and monitor action plans to redress variances.
  • Ensure that all Company policies and procedures and legal obligations are understood and adhered to by all members of the workforce.
  • Ensure that all service levels are achieved and exceeded, delivering continuous improvement on all KPIs.
  • Supporting the Supervisory team to manage the workforce in the achievement of their daily and weekly tasks.
  • Ensuring all staff and third parties comply with all Company Health and Safety procedures at all times. Attendance at SIT meetings.
  • Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with the Client.
  • Plan and organise the efficient and effective use of resources ensuring optimum management of vehicle downtime to ensure high levels of service delivery.
  • Maintain all records and systems for the effective and compliant operation of the contract.
  • Develop additional services/revenue from within the current contract.
  • Supporting the Senior Management team in delivering contract improvements.
  • Carry out any other such reasonable job related tasks as the Company may require you to undertake from time to time.
  • RequirementsHeres what we require:
  • Minimum GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English
  • People management, recruitment, disciplinaries, staff development and training
  • Contractual based experience in a detailed work environment within strict operational/contractual parameters and time constraint
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels (clients, head office, supervisors and crews), both verbal and written with appropriate use of IT. Encourage feedback and act upon it
  • Knowledge & experience of financial control, cost analysis, budgeting, ordering procedures
  • Previous experience within the sector including waste management licenced environment
  • Experience of unionised working environments
  • Experience of working with a local authority
  • Experience of Vehicle management - CPC, tachos, drivers hours regulations
