Job Description

The BackgroundOur client emerged in 2019 producing and publishing content for children such as books, shows, games and have since received multiple awards. They are passionate about creating memorable characters and telling engaging stories across film, broadcast, andcommercial projects. The beautifully crafted stories and lovingly produced books for children of all ages transport you to another world and create real page turning power.Our client has worked with household names and they have created long lasting and valued partnerships with all their clients. This has resulted in many successful projects. One of their most successful projects followed on from the outstanding sales on awell know E-commerce platform. This project has also generated over 3 million views on their digital platform.To support the continuation of their success, they have recently been invested by a private equity house. The investment will support future television programs as well as help invest in the growing team. The first critical hire identified is a Head of Digital.The new Head of Digital will steer the business into the future by increasing sales on E-commerce platforms, as well as going on to create their own multi-channel offering with a vision to include gaming, digital books, and other applications. With circa100 books unpublished and production at investment stage the future of our client is a very exciting opportunity for a commercially driven digital expert.The RequirementThe Head of Digital will lead the digital strategy and capabilities, ensuring the product portfolio is optimised to achieve the companys vision and drive continuous improvement. The successful candidate will operate in a very hands-on role leading the day-to-dayoperation of the digital activity.Joining the Chief Executive Officer, Creative Director and Head of Publishing, the new Head of Digital will identify how to enhance their social media presence and online trading performance directing traffic through all media avenues. With a view to furtherexpand the digital team within the next 12 months, this is an exciting opportunity to select and grow the team.Critical impact areas for the incoming Head of Digital will include:

  • Create an exciting digital plan that will drive traffic through all social and digital platforms with the desired outcome of increased sales
  • Ownership of the trading accounts to continue driving current revenue and looking for other opportunities within the market
  • Create a publishing portfolio of current and new assets and increase the interest of new products
  • Strong competitive awareness to understand how and why our products and content will outperform others
  • Identify gaps for new product development using existing assets to drive sales and revenue
  • In-depth analysing of audience data, traffic analytics, channel performance and recommending improvements
  • Use commercial data to have a clear vision to increase sales revenue and able to drill into campaigns to assess performance and effectiveness
  • In depth knowledge of Google Analytics and related tracking technologies to understand the digital footprint and how to use SEO to increase visitors to various websites
  • Trading across multi channels at expert level to raise the profile and presence of all assets and products
  • Budgeting for campaign and launches of new products and brands with an awareness of ROI
  • Have a "business as usual" mentality with a continuous focus on adding value into our future
  • Able to remain hands on whilst recruiting a team to underpin growth and maximise opportunities for revenue

Looks for and implements innovative ways to make significant improvement in profitability.Leadership - Seen as a forward thinker and visionary to deliver on a digital transformation as well as developing a digital team to support the aspirations of our client.Analytical - Creates a culture of analytical thinking underpinned by data to identify both problems and opportunities for the business.
