Job Description

RotheramCarrington Recruitment Group are pleased to be exclusively working with a very well-established service business based on the Wirral, who are recruiting for a permanent Finance Manager to join their team. Offering hybrid working(2 days in the office and 3 days working for home). This role will report directly to the Owners and Directors of the business and will be fully responsible for the day to day responsibilities of a small finance function. You will be working closely with thesales, operations and commercial teams so it is key that the successful individual has excellent communication skills and is confident in pushing back and challenging where necessary. Having a can do attitude is equally as important to be successful in thisrole, our Client is looking for someone who will challenge the status quo i.e identifying areas that require change and automation and making it happen, always striving to improve.The Finance Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Responsible for all aspects of the finance function for a £30 million turnover service business
  • Training and management of a small finance team including (management accountant, accounts payable, payroll and credit control)
  • Delivery and review of the month-end management accounts pack to P&L with commentary to the Board
  • Weekly and monthly margin reporting
  • Review of the purchase ledger transactions to ensure all invoices reconcile correctly
  • Monthly, quarterly and annual tax compliance
  • Continuous process improvement of systems and automation
  • Weekly, monthly and annual margin reporting
  • Weekly forecasting
  • Budgetary control (variance analysis / commentary)
  • Completion of statutory financial statements
  • Completion of quarterly VAT return
  • Support the delivery of the monthly performance review to the Board
Skills/Experience
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent experience
  • Background ideally within an SME business but not essential
  • Previous staff management experience of a small team - advantageous
  • Excellent interpersonal skills - essential
  • Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills - essential
  • Motivated attitude, drive improvements across the business
  • Good understanding of VAT and Corporation Tax would be advantageous
  • Understanding debt profile
Salary/Benefits
  • £50,000 to £55,000 per annum
