Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide temporary, clerical/administrative support to the Breast Imaging Department as Clinic Clerk. Department: Breast Imaging DepartmentLocation: Clatterbridge General Hospital, CH63 4JYPay:£9.49 per hour plus accrued holiday payWe are looking for a highly motivated individual to provide temporary, clerical/administrative support to the Breast Imaging Department, covering a period of maternity leave.The successful candidate will work in a busy friendly team, maintaining the high standard of service we provide to both patients and staff. This will include general clerical duties necessary to ensure efficient running of the Screening Office. The successfulcandidate should demonstrate a high level of initiative and discretion.The working hours for this role - Full Time 37.5 Hours per week with working pattern Monday - Friday. Duration of the role till 28th October 2022.Duties Or Key Skills:-

  • The post holder will have a responsibility within a highly motivated Team for the provision of clerical services benefiting the Breast Imaging Department and other service users, at Clatterbridge Hospital, observing established systems of work and protocols.
  • This role will include reception duties and may develop to use complex appointment systems and manual and electronic duties associated with the location and update of images, and the handling of incoming and outgoing post.
  • Good communication skills are essential as the post holder will need to liaise directly with patients, consultants, and other hospital staff.
  • The candidate should have significant clerical experience within an NHS environment. A working knowledge of general office procedures and Microsoft packages is required, and knowledge of the National Breast Screening Programme, but full training will beprovided in the use of the National Breast Screening database. Medical terminology would be an advantage.
  • The Wirral & Chester Breast Screening Programme is operated over 3 sites - Clatterbridge Hospital, St. Catherines Hospital and The Countess of Chester Hospital. The post holder will be based in the Breast Unit at Clatterbridge, providing support to theBreast Screening Unit, during the period of maternity leave. Flexibility is required to work as part of a team covering peaks of workload and emergency cover to support the Department as required.
  • To be accountable to Radiology Services Manager and Breast Screening Office Manager, and to report to the Deputy Office Manager and Superintendent Radiographer
