Purchasing Manager – Winsford – Up to £50,000 Per AnnumThe Purchasing Manager will form an integral part of the Purchasing function in the achievement of Operational objectives. With a strong solid background in purchasing and supply chain management, you will take a proactive approach in reviewing current systems and procedures, making recommendations and implementing changes. The role is key to leading the Company forward in securing quality suppliers of materials and components covering price delivery and quality targetsKey Tasks and Responsibilities:• Managing and controlling all the company’s external suppliers with particular emphasis on the purchase of materials and finished parts for Production• Ensure parts and materials are bought at the most competitive price and delivered on time for Production and our customers• Establish strategic relationships with key suppliers who are aligned to the company needs• Identify new suppliers, agree terms and negotiate supply agreements where appropriate, including discount structures and volume rebates• Build close working relationships with associated departments e.g Sales & Production• Continually improve Purchasing methods and where possible achieve a lean model.• There is a full bill of materials and MRP system in place which is key to driving stocks down across the business, while ensuring materials and available to production before required.• 95% plus of all purchase orders are placed electronically via an app to eliminate manual order raising to save time and increase eliminate human error.• Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality• Forecast likely levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs• Keeping a constant check on stock levels to maximise product efficiency• Attend meetings and trade conferences• Identifying potential suppliers, visiting existing suppliers, and building and maintaining good relationships with them• Training and supervising the work of other members of staff• Producing reports and statistics using computer software• Processing payments and invoicesKnowledge/Skills/Experience:• Degree qualified or equivalent• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a purchasing role.• 3 years supervisory experience• Management and coordination of Purchasing activities with relation to cost, delivery and quality performance in a make to order production environment.• Good knowledge of MRP systems, and be able to demonstrate management and improvement• Sound experience of organising systems and processes in a commercial environment, usually achieved through the management of teams.• Communicate effectively through written or verbal mediums through all areas of the company.• Have excellent attention to detail• Good interpersonal skills will be necessary as will p.c. literacy, numeracy, acumen and the ability to work under pressure.For Immediate Impact Apply online Now!
