Job Description

As Payroll Officer you will be managing the payroll and pension activity for up to 300 employees, supporting the HR Manager with responsibility for the T&A, payroll and HRIS system. This is a key role within the HR team.Key accountabilities:

  • Acting as subject matter expert within the business for payroll and HMRC queries
  • Managing and developing all payroll processes, working alongside the outsourced payroll provider
  • Cross checking data and payroll instructions, conducting monthly pay audits
  • Reviewing and improving HR/Payroll processes
  • Maintaining and managing current system and transfer over to a new payroll/T&A solution
  • Managing and maintaining HRIS system
  • Developing and managing the employer pension records and data
  • Providing business information and analysis (pay modelling, statutory pay reporting, MI reports etc) to senior managers
Key duties will include:
  • Running payroll and producing monthly reports
  • Inputting new starts and finalising leavers
  • Maintaining employee records
  • Checking overtime received and collating weekly data
  • Inputting and checking all payroll hours and data
  • Dealing with payroll queries
Key skills and experience required:
  • Previous payroll experience is essential - CIPP qualification would be an advantage
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines - organised under pressure
  • Strong communication skills - professional and friendly
  • Used to working in a confidential manner
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong commercial awareness
Hours of work: Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.30pmHolidays: 25 days + bank holidays (pro rata)
