Job Description

Managed Hosting Team Lead- DevOps / Deployment Automation - WimbledonAvanti Recruitment is working with a leading Fintech company in South West London to recruit a Managed Hosting Team Lead for a hands-on technical role to lead, manage and motivate a team of 6 Application Engineers responsible for deploying, maintaining,supporting and automating their software platform for clients as a Hosted Managed Service with data centers based in EMEA (UK) and APAC (Australia).Your role will include resource planning, setting metrics and reporting on team performance, ensuring client SLAs are met, having 1:1 with the team and setting training plans and acting as a point of escalation for their Managed Hosting Team. Your team willbe responsible for automating software deployments; building CI/CD pipeline, maintenance; fault identification & resolution, performance reviews; change control management; monitoring & alerting; as well as developing scripts to help automate manual processes.Responsibilities

  • Leading, managing and motivating the Application Engineering team
  • Support and deploy software to Data Centres across EMEA and APAC regions
  • Automate manual tasks by writing scripts in PowerShell, Python or Bash.
  • Automate software deployments with a DevOps approach building CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins or bamboo
  • Troubleshooting and providing end-to-end problem resolution.
  • Assist developers with complex technical investigations
  • Participates in 24/7 on-call rota with team members - 1 evening per week from home in case of critical systems failure (not customer facing) - on-call allowance and call out fee paid.
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and releases
Skills and Qualifications
  • Installing and supporting software platforms in either a large organisation or hosted managed service (ideally Java/SQL/Tomcat based solutions)
  • Strong Microsoft SQL Server database administration and T-SQL skills (SQL2016, SQL2019).
  • Strong scripting & automation skills in one or more of the following: PowerShell; Python; Ansible; Git; Terraform; Jenkins
  • Knowledge of monitoring & alerting tools such as Solarwinds
  • Experience working with VMWare, Windows Server and SQL Server is mandatory
  • Experience of delivering software through CD pipelines, ideally using Jenkins or Bamboo
  • Experience migrating to the cloud and supporting applications on AWS
