Job Description

Lead DevOps EngineerPermanent / WimbledonRullion Limited have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join one of their well respected banking clients.The client has recently embarked on a transformational journey and as a result, have an exciting opportunity for a Lead DevOps Engineer to join the team, working alongside Agile delivery squads, in helping design, build, and maintain automated CI/CD frameworksacross our Salesforce and Snowflake (Data Warehouse) platforms.Key Accountabilities:

  • To act as a "DevOps evangelist" promoting and implementing best practice in pursuit of streamlined delivery.
  • Designing and implementing secure automation solutions (CI/CD pipelines) across development, testing, and production environments covering Hybrid (Cloud/On-Premise) architectures.
  • Continuously evaluating existing systems against industry standards; making recommendations for improvements and implementing as agreed.
  • Ensuring Governance is built into the automation pipelines - including traceability of change and control of environments.
  • Inspect, adapt and improve constantly to increase the Quality & Velocity of deliveries.
  • Development and support of the DevOps toolchain.
  • Development and maintenance of automated solution covering operational administration, system/data backup, disaster recovery, and security/performance monitoring
  • Facilitating the process of knowledge sharing across delivery and operations teams.
  • Defining the Branching/Merging Strategy in partnership with the Development Leads.
  • Troubleshooting deployment issues and coordinating with the development and operations teams to streamline/automate.
In order to succeed in this role, it is essential that you have the following experience:
  • Professional experience as a Senior or Lead DevOps / System Engineer
  • Solid hands-on experience in Software Build Automation; Creation of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins; Configuration Management; and Change & Release Management in an Agile/SCRUM development environment.
  • Installation, administration and maintenance of tools like Bitbucket, GitLab, Jenkins, Teamcity, Subversion, Atlassian JIRA, Nexus and Artifactory.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages including Bash, Python, Ruby and JavaScript etc.
  • Knowledge of secure coding and testing concepts across a variety of tools (static, dynamic, and both automated and manual) and vulnerability management.
  • Experience of Container solutions such as Docker/ Kubernetes and Micro-service patterns/architectures.
