Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting students’ learning and development Do you have excellent organisational and communication skills Do you enjoy working in a dynamic and collaborative environmentIf yes, then you might be the perfect candidate for the Learning Resource Centre (LRC) Assistant role we are currently recruiting for.As an LRC Assistant, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the day-to-day running of the LRC, which includes cataloguing, shelving, and repairing resources, as well as lending out and returning items
  • Helping students with their enquiries and information needs, using a range of sources and databases
  • Supporting students in the use of resources and facilities available in the LRC, such as computers, printers, scanners, and photocopiers
  • Creating and maintaining a welcoming, tidy, and conducive learning environment in the LRC
  • Supervising and guiding students in the LRC, ensuring that they follow the rules and policies of the school
  • Collaborating with the LRC Manager and other staff members to plan and deliver activities and events that promote the LRC and enhance students’ learning experience
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • A minimum of GCSE grade C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • A good level of IT literacy and competence in using Microsoft Office and other software applications
  • A friendly, approachable, and professional attitude
  • A willingness to learn new skills and take on new challenges
  • Experience working with Children or young people
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people
