Job Description

Hi, Adecco UK are recruiting for Motor/Spindle Technicians to work at a site based in Wilmslow for one of our prestigious clients!Title: Motor/Spindle TechnicianLocation: Handforth, Wilmslow SK9Duration: 6 months (potential to be extended/Permanent Hours: Flexibledescription:The position will be held in our Handforth Dean facility, which is responsible for supply, repair and retrofit of machine tool spindles and motors. You will work as part of a well-established and close-knit team, supporting the business in its drive to increasemarket share whilst ensuring our exacting standards are maintained for all customers.The spindle and motor portfolio of our customers is of a varied nature and on that basis, we recognise and support the need to offer full training to the successful candidate.What are my responsibilities

  • Strip drown and assessment of incoming machine tool spindles, motors, fan and pump assemblies
  • Fault finding and root cause analysis to establish the reasons for failure and where possible mitigate future re-occurrence
  • Working with technical specialists both in the UK and Germany to formulate condition reports - identifying what is required to rebuild the product to the desired customer standard
  • Managing stock and ensuring availability of spares in readiness for rebuild
  • Clean, polish and prepare spindle components prior to assembly
  • Rebuild of products to OEM specifications
  • Fully test and, where appropriate, calibrate products before returning to customer, this includes running the products to top speed and analysing the results - encoder set-up, tool sensor set-up, gripping forces, run-outs, etc
  • Working within industry standard guidelines such as:
  • 5S to maintain the condition of the workshop and ensure a safe working environment
  • Quality Management - ISO based standards to ensure both customer and stakeholder needs are met
  • Environmental Management System - Ensuring we achieve and where possible surpass our environmental responsibilities and commitments
  • What do I need to qualify for this job
  • A good understanding of mechanical fitting and machining.
  • A keen desire to learn new skills
  • An individual who prides their self on punctuality, reliability with excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work as part of a team and carry out all work in a timely and efficient manner
  • A good understanding of Health & Safety standards with the ability to recognise and help manage a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues
  • The ability to read engineering drawings
  • Be able to use basic hand tools.
Advantageous:
  • Competent in the operation of workshop equipment such as lathe, milling machine, pillar drill, etc
  • Experience of electrical systems and exposure to associated measurement devices such as DMMs, volt meters, etc
  • Previous experience working to close tolerances and using associated measuring equipment
  • Experience in the use of lifting equipment - however full training will be provided
