Job Description

2nd Line Engineer (1st Line, Engineer, 2nd Line, Active Directory, AD, O365, Group Policy, Server, Windows, LAN/WAN) - Permanent - WilmslowCharles Simon Associates are currently looking for a 2nd Line Engineer on a permanent basis for a well known business based in Wilmslow.Location: Wilmslow - (onsite 5 days a week)Salary: Up to £33,000 per annumSkills/Requirements for the 2nd Line Engineer:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Strong Active Directory experience
  • Ability to work on both remote and face to face support
  • Basic LAN/WAN networking experience
  • Group Policy knowledge
  • Windows Server knowledge is highly desirable
  • Hardware support work PC’s, Laptop’s and tablets
Start date is ASAP for the 2nd Line EngineerThe 2nd Line Engineer will be responsible for:
  • Triaging and prioritising of all new support calls and escalating calls to 2nd/3rd line response as appropriate within SLA timeframes.
  • Diagnosing and resolving basic issues with desktops, laptops, iPads, printers and other similar end user devices.
  • Identifying and troubleshooting simple network issues.
  • PC/laptop building with OS and software packages managed by the Microsoft
  • Controlling, managing and reporting all site assets, including maintaining the asset registers.
  • Being proactive, walking the offices to provide ad hoc pre-emptive support before problems and issues become larger
