Opportunities to join the East Kent simulation team will arise in August 2020 due to the existing post holders returning to training. Applicants are expected to have 2 years experience of Anaesthetics with primary FRCA being desirable but not essential. Training will be offered in a wide range of simulation technologies as well as facilitation skills and debriefing. EKHUFT is equipped with a wide range of patient mannikins, high quality audio-visual systems and uses collaborative scenario authoring software. A variety of regional and local multi-professional simulation courses are delivered from our main Simulation centre based at the William Harvey Hospital. In addition, the post holders are encouraged to support simulation-based learning encounters across all three main sites (Canterbury, Margate and Ashford) wherever possible. The simulation fellows will be supervised by the simulation lead Dr Barry Featherstone and will be supported to design and deliver new simulation programmes/ in-situ events as well as enhance and further develop established courses. Clinical duties will involve participating in the junior on-call rota for anaesthetics (theatres/ obstetrics, depending on experience and competencies). Critical care / further obstetric experience may be offered to those applicants intending to return to training programmes in the future.
