Job Description

About the opportunity...We are recruiting for a Software Developer to join our Software Development Team within our IT department based at our Customer Support Centre in Willenhall.As the Software Developer you will provide day to day support of all the internal Poundland written software using C# .Net Developer and SQL, ensuring all software is written in line with business requirements. Where necessary, you will work closely with colleagues at stores, distribution centres and CSC.Reporting to the Software Development Team Leader, you will work on about 3 projects simultaneously, both short and long term and will work closely with other members of the team. Projects wil be wiithin retail, distribution and CSC.What youll be doing...

  • Ensuring software is delivered as specified in the business requirements from the Business Solutions team whilst making sure standards set by the Software Development Team Leader are adhered to.
  • Writing applications in C#.NET as well as SQL server code such as store procedures and views.
  • Using an analytical approach to interact with colleagues from all levels within the business to extract required information in order to complete or progress information requests.
  • Managing assigned support calls, ensuring they are resolved satisfactorily within the SLA
  • Providing an on-call service when required for out of hours incidents
    • What youll need...
  • Previous software development experience with C# .NET with commercial experience in System Development
  • Experience of Delphi, Xamarin and DB2 would be advantageous
  • Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SQL
  • Good analytical skills with an inquisitive nature
  • Excellent organisation skills, with the ability to prioritise and carry out multiple tasks
  • Confidence and resilience to deal with all levels of colleagues within the business
