Job Description

RM Recruit are proud to be working with a Leicester based not-for-profit organisation who are on the lookout for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join their finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. Our client is able tooffer a flexible, hybrid working arrangement with the office presence set at twice per week with the rest working from home.As an Assistant Accountant you will play a crucial role in supporting the Financial Accountant with all month end duties. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual looking to advance their career in accounting and finance.Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
  • Month-End Close: Assist in the month-end closing process, including reconciling bank statements, preparing journal entries and processing prepayments and accruals whilst ensuring financial reports are produced on time.
  • Expense Management: Monitor and track company expenses, review receipts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Analysis: Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Audit Support: Assist in the annual financial audit by providing necessary documentation and responding to audit inquiries.
  • Compliance: Stay updated with accounting regulations and ensure the companys financial practices align with statutory requirements.
  • Ad Hoc Projects: Contribute to special projects, process improvements, and other ad hoc assignments as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Part qualified or qualified by experience candidates will be considered for this role.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational abilities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity.
