An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to work as a Community Dietitian to provide a high quality and evidence based Nutrition service to patients on the newly built Community Assessment Unit and within Wigan community division . If you are seeking to advance your career in dietetics or seeking further experience as a Band 6 dietitian, you will benefit from the support of a small, friendly team of 15 dietitians.This is a part time post at 28 hours per week (Monday to Sunday).The post holder will have a varied caseload providing specialist dietetic advice with opportunity to develop paediatric skills and specialise within the Nutritional Support clinical pathway; including home enteral feeding and oral nutritional support.The ideal candidate will have excellent clinical and communication skills; with awareness of the challenges within the community setting when devising appropriate dietetic care plans.Under guidance from the Team Leader the post holder will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive dietetic service in the community assessment unit and through community clinics, home visits and within care settings. The post holder will receive supervision and mentorship from the Team leader and Specialist Dietitians to support your reflection and develop your clinical knowledge. The post holder will autonomously manage their clinical caseload of patients with complex needs, assessing, planning and implementing dietetic treatment. The post holder will contribute to improved service delivery by critical analysis and appraisal of current research to support evidenced based practice.There will be opportunity to develop audit and evaluation skills to provide validated data to support the health outcomes of the service delivery.Applicants will be required to see patients and families face to face within a community setting. Therefore it cannot be ruled out that they may come in to contact with people who have COVID-19, although the Trust provides PPE and takes all reasonable steps to ask patients with symptoms to cancel appointments.Please Note: Candidates will be asked to provide original certificates to the interview panel.
